PARSON Drove are marking a century of football with a unique centenary match tomorrow.
The Fenland club, formed back in 1908, entertain Southern League Premier Division side Cambridge City at their Main Road base (3pm).
The visitors have also been around for 100 years and the fixture was the brainchild of Drove secretary John Cook.
Parson Drove boss Nick Markillie said: "It is wonderful that Cambridge City have agreed to come and give us a game.
"It will hopefully be a nice occasion for everyone involved with the club and I just hope we can keep things respectable on the pitch. They are bringing a hell of a squad down."
Cambridge City's squad includes one player with a very famous footballing name. Charlie Sheringham – the son of European Cup winner Teddy – is in the Lilywhites party for tomorrow's match.
IT might only be the first weekend of July but football is already back on the sporting menu tomorrow.
While most clubs are only just resuming training after their summer holidays, March Town are already set for action.
Brett Whaley's men take on Peterborough League side Stilton in a pre-season friendly at Bushfield (2pm kick-off). Whaley felt his players were under-prepared last season and there is no chance of the same thing happening again ahead of the new Ridgeons League First Division campaign.
He said: "Last season we were struggling to see out games so I want to get as many 90 minutes into as many players as possible for this season.
"The numbers have been excellent so far during pre-season but it has come to the stage where we need to have a look at people in action before signing them on.
"I'll be taking 22 players to Bushfield for what is the first of eight friendlies altogether."
Whaley is yet to confirm any new signings but Parson Drove duo Gary Haime and Michael Couzens have both impressed while training with the club.
