Rutland League: Newborough scored in excess of 200 for the fourth game in succession, but they haven't won any of them.
They lost to Huntingdon by 16 runs and then Yaxley sped past their score of 230-8 for the loss of five wickets in Rutland Division Two.

South African Peter Hattingh was dropped five times on the way to his match-winning score of 125 for Yaxley. He also cracked an unbeaten 91 the day before for Upwood in their nine-wicket Hunts Division One success over Sawtry – Aroon Akhtar's 6-37 helped Orton Park to a similarly comfortable win over Alconbury.

Market Deeping's fine record in Rutland Division Two was about to be spoiled when rain halted their home game with March. March openers Steve Seymour (151) and Andrew Mills (100) added 220 for the first wicket as they amassed 294-4 from their 45 overs – Deeping were 98-3 when the match was abandoned.

Ashley Rodgers made 101 for Castor against Stamford, but that match was also eventually lost to the weather.

Kasim Ikhlaq, who made 151 last week, cracked another 80 as Orton Park beat Loddington by 28 runs in Division Three. Whittlesey lost two tight games in Division Four, by four runs to Finedon and by one wicket to Empingham.

Ketton rued their failure to field a full side as their nine men lost by two runs at Werrington in Division Seven. Simon Smith (52) and Cristian Durant (31) had given Ketton a decent start in their pursuit of 140.

Cavaliers won the city derby against Thomas Cook by two wickets. Arshad Majeed (57) and Jim Fordham (56) batted well for Cooks as they reached 189-5.

But Dave Robinson (66) and Dave Johnson (51) saw Cavaliers home despite the best efforts of Danny Hirst (4-46).
