5pm update: Posh v MK Dons match is off.Martin insists the confidence the Posh players have after Saturday's impressive 1-1 FA Cup draw at Premier League West Brom will make them fearsome opponents, even for a side boasting 10 wins in their last 11 outings.
Martin said: "After a performance and a result like Saturday, you just want to play again as soon as possible. We'd fancy taking on anyone after that display.
"In fact it's better for us to go straight into another big game in front of another big crowd. There is no danger of us feeling a little bit flat because tonight is a far more important match than the West Brom one.
"It's a local derby and a match against fellow promotion candidates. MK Dons are a team everyone wants to beat as well because they are in such good form.
"We beat them at their place earlier in the season and that sort of got us going on our good run, but it also seemed to help them because they've changed the way they play since that game.
"And they've been very successful. Considering the changes they had in the summer, they've done unbelievably well. The new manager has done a fantastic job and we're in for a tough match.
"But we are playing well and we are a very confident side anyway. We are very keen for us to beat the weather and play tonight."
Posh are anticipating another big crowd this evening and Martin believes the home fans have a huge part to play tonight and in the rest of the League One promotion campaign.
Martin added: "Our fans were unbelievable at West Brom on Saturday and the lads were definitely inspired by the backing we received.
"West Brom fans are famous for the noise they create and we couldn't hear them at all. If we get that sort of support for the rest of the season it can only help.
"We will put the FA Cup to the back of our minds now. If we beat West Brom in the replay we have a decent draw in the next round, but we want League One points more than anything.
"And beating the teams around you is vital so tonight is huge. We're up for it, the fans will be up for it and we are confident we can get the result we need."
With the exception of the Leicester match, Posh have performed well in front of big crowds this season.
