FOOTBALL: New Bourne boss Mark Cook hopes the club can set out on the road to recovery tonight.
The Wakes are rock-bottom of the United Counties League Premier Division after enduring a torrid start to the season, but they are hopeful of collecting their first points since the opening day of the season when hosting Lincolnshire rivals Holbeach at the Abbey Lawns tonight.

Cook, who worked as assistant under resigned former boss Neil Thorpe, has key players Daniel Bent, Khameel Spence and Lewis Brookes available to face the Tigers. He is also hopeful of fielding Corby Town striker Martin Wormall, who has spent the opening part of the season at Spalding.

Cook, who suffered a 5-0 defeat at Wellingborough Town in his first game at the helm, said: "I am asking for commitment, desire and passion from the players and I believe 100 per cent we can get ourselves up the table – if that was not the case I wouldn't have taken the job."

There is another big derby battle at Leading Drove when Yaxley host leaders Deeping while Blackstones are away at Bourne's weekend conquerors, Wellingborough.

Wisbech will play under floodlights at their temporary Outwell home for the first time when hosting CRC in the Cambs Invitation Cup. Wisbech – who have missed out on signing Mildenhall striker Chris Bacon - have won and drawn the two teams' recent meetings in the Ridgeons League Premier Division.
