March are confident of taking league title

CAMBS Division One is again promising to produce the most exciting finish in local league cricket.
Last season three teams – March, Burwell and Camden – all reached the final day of the campaign with a chance to be crowned champions.
And it's happening again with March and Burwell this time joined by Nassington in a breakaway group at the top. March emerged victorious last season and face Burwell in the competition's big game at Burrowmoor Road tomorrow (1.30pm).
March skipper Chris Ringham said: "We're confident we can win the title again, but beating Burwell would obviously make it a lot easier.
"It's a good, even division again and any one of the top three could win it. We beat Wisbech last week which probably knocked them out of it, but we have tough opponents in Burwell and Nassington.
"Burwell beat us twice last season and again on the opening day of this season so we are due a good result against them. They are a formidable outfit, especially when Grant Flower plays for them, but then his presence should inspire us to raise our game."
Zimbabwean international Flower has been playing for Essex in the Twenty/20 competition, but is expected to turn out tomorrow.
Ringham dismissed him cheaply earlier in the season, but the March skipper also believes Nassington have outstanding individuals capable of keeping that club in the title race.
Ringham (right) added: "Nassington are serious dangers. The advantage they have is the presence of two high quality spinners in Haroon Mohammed and Tariq Aziz.
"They both bat well as well so they're capable of turning matches on their own. I wouldn't like to predict who will win the title, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went down to the wire again."
March have been boosted by fireman Ed Rodgers' decision to commit himself for most of the remainder of the season. He is part of a full-strength side tomorrow.
Nassington should keep up their title challenge with victory at home over Godmanchester seconds.
March: Andrew Mills, Connor Cunningham, Ed Rodgers, Andrew Devenish, Carl Chapman, Steve Hinson, Steve Seymour, Kurt Cunningham, Chris Ringham, John Gilson, Chris Peckett.
PETERBOROUGH Town will be confident of maintaining their Northants Premier Division title challenge at the expense of lowly Wollaston tomorrow.
Town make a trip into the unknown to face last season's Division One champions. What is known is that Wollaston are not particularly strong, although they did record their first win of the summer at Desborough last weekend.
Town should be at full strength with off-spinner Phil Adams fit again after suffering ankle ligament damage in a pre-match kickabout.
