THE future of junior tennis in the area looks bright after a handful of youngsters from Huntingdon Tennis Club won selection to play for their county.
After a series of excellent displays at the Mini Tennis Finals in Cambridge eight year-olds Abby Hanson, Anna Treherne, Millie Kennedy, and Megan Potts have been offered the chance to wear county colours.

In total 10 players from the club went through to play in the three different Mini Tennis age group finals with seven year-olds Matthew Anscomb, Oscar Bryden and Kira Reuter all doing well in the Under 8s with Reuter taking the bronze medal.

Meanwhile eight year-old Anna Traherne won silver in the girls Under 9 with Abby Hanson taking bronze.

Millie Kennedy took fourth and Megan Pitts fifth while eight-year-old Jack Pearson secured eighth spot in the boys competition.

And not content with their success in the younger age group. Hanson, Traherne, Kennedy and Potts also took part in the under 10 event.

Here Hanson secured a silver medal while Traherne took bronze with Kennedy in fourth.

Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Clare Bragg on 01480 411412.
