POSH have missed out on the signing of Ebbsfleet striker John Akinde.
Akinde yesterday joined Championship side Bristol City for £150,000 to the disappointment of Posh manager Darren Ferguson who had been tracking the striker for months.

Ferguson said: "John rang me last night to say he had decided to join Bristol.

"He said it was a football decision based purely on the chance to play at a higher level.

"I'm disappointed because we were chasing him for a long time and I am convinced he would have been a great signing for us.

"Strikers are not a priority for me, but when one of John's quality becomes available I will always be interested."

Ferguson has until Monday's transfer deadline to freshen up his squad. He has not ruled out a further venture into the transfer market, but declined to say what positions he was interested in strengthening.

Its not that bad if we played Hyde with Keates we'd be ok and we'd have

Lee
Coutts
Torres (Played Central a lot for Wycombe)
Martin (Played Central a lot for Wycombe)

We just shouldn't be playing Lee and Keates in the middle!

Come on Fergie/Fry, what about filling the REAL problem areas??? I was at Scunthorpe on Saturday and Charlie lee looked like a lost sheep in midfield..exactly the same as he did against Orient the week before. Charnock was horrendous in defence and Blackett was OK but showed a lot of vulnerability in the last 15 mins.

We need to sort the problem areas before strenghthening the squad in areas that are already covered...
