CURRENT manager Scott Stainsby goes back in time to the club's Bretton North End days to pick his all-star team.
GOALKEEPER
Alan Clarke
He might not be the best kicker of all-time but he is a tremendous shot-stopper. Has been around the club for about 10 years in total.
RIGHT BACK
Chris Brown snr
In the team more for his off-pitch entertainment t
han his ability on it. A top bloke to have around and had a great personality.
LEFT BACK
Ian Edge
Was a teenager when he turned out for us but as left-footed players go he is right up with the best we've had.
CENTRE BACK
Steve Long
Was a cool defender who had one hell of a long throw. Always looked casual because he was such a good reader of the game.
CENTRE BACK
John Hughes
One of the stars for the club in the early days. He was coming to the end of his time when I started playing.
RIGHT MIDFIELD
Darren Bradley
Possesses an excellent first touch and a player who can makes things happen in midfield. He disappeared to the Royal Oak and is now with Netherton, but always remembered as a top player for us.
LEFT MIDFIELD
Des Lawrence
A splendid creative player who never really scored the number of goals he should have. But a quality talent nonetheless.
CENTRE MIDFIELD
Martin Bradley
A goalscoring midfielder who must have spent about a decade at the club.
CENTRE MIDFIELD
Tuncay Korkmaz
A great midfielder who we found out can still do a job when he played against us in the Hereward Cup semi for Deeping Athletic last week.
FORWARD
Jamie Graham
There is nothing to say about Jamie that hasn't already been said.
FORWARD
Mark Paul
Played for us before he got a move to Southampton and was a real handful. He and Jamie would have been magnificent together.
Substitutes
Andrew Bradley (midfield): He'll be furious with me for only making him sub when his brothers are both in the team.
Darrin Clarke (midfield): A really gifted guy who loved nothing more than taking the mickey out of opponents.
Milton Graham (midfield): He had a couple of years with us and shone in Sunday morning company.
Leroy Moore: Without him there would be no Bretton North End. Managed and bankrolled the club for years.
