Impressive midfielder Luke Bonney doubled the lead nine minutes later and striker Craig Thain wrapped up the points with seven minutes remaining.

Clarke said: "Overall it was a very good performance and a great start for the team which is a mixture of last season's Under 18 team and four lads who have come up from the Under 16s."

Yaxley: Aaron Keir, Olly Medwynter, Tom Poulson, Lewis Stone, Chris King (Jake Pell), Owen Uglow, Luke Bonney, Craig Thain, Lennox Desborough, Kurtis Adams, Luke McDowell (Louis Medywnter). Unused sub: Matt Ivo.

n LEADING Drove is the venue for a charity match in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital tomorrow morning.

The Posh Legends featuring Ken Charlery are taking on local Sunday morning side Royal Mail – 11am kick-off, entry £2.
