LOCAL youngsters provided some excellent performances in the North Mids Cross-Country League at Corby.
Charlotte Taylor of Nene Valley Harriers was in superb form to win the Under 15 girls race on a course that was so wet and muddy that it was difficult to stay upright in places.

Taylor, who missed the league opener last month, led all the way to w
in by 14 seconds while Georgie Freeman of Peterborough Athletic Club finished third and now leads the individual standings. Freeman had good support from Laura Arnold as PAC finished second.

Sarah Caskey leads the Under 20 standings with two wins out of two, having finished 10th overall in the women's race.

Steph Burton finished fourth in the Under 13 girls race, helping Nene Valley finish second, while Charlotte Hinch placed fourth in the Under 17 women's race.

Alex Hampson led all the way in the mixed Under 11 race while Chris Wright, Callum Ramsey and Tom Rodgers were all in the top 10 of the Under 17 men's race where Nene Valley finished second. PAC's Jacob Wisbey also went well in that race, finishing sixth.

Stan Owen warmed up for this weekend's British Masters International by running solidly in the senior men's race, where Nick Grimer was the best local.
