SIX-SHOOTER Bradley Apted fired Wisbech to two terrific weekend wins.
The Kiwi bagged a hat-trick in a 4-3 East Premier A Division win over Cambridge City and delivered a repeat performance 24 hours later in a 4-2 success against Blueharts in the first round of the Hockey Association Cup.
Sam Blunt (2) and Joe Melton were also on target against Cambridge as Wisbech moved into the top half of the table. Drew Harvey was the other scorer against a Blueharts team unbeaten in the League.
City of Peterborough seconds were promoted alongside Wisbech from the Premier B Division last season and maintained their unbeaten start at the higher level with an impressive 6-2 win over Dereham.
It was 2-2 at half-time before City turned on the power, particularly Shayne Andrews who scored four times. A Neil Lake penalty and a Craig Petrie strike completed the scoring.
Bourne are pointless in the Premier B Division after suffering a predictable 7-0 hammering at the hands of table-topping Pelicans. Long Sutton are unbeaten and fourth after beating Wapping 3-2.
City thirds and Market Deeping are locked in battle at the top of Division Two North with the former currently on top by virtue of a superior goal difference.
Four goals from Josh Young and one from Jack Cartwright saw City to a 5-0 win over Dereham seconds, while Paul Tancred (3) and James Sharpe steered Deeping to a 4-1 win over Norwich Dragons.
Josh Birt and Ashley Welland each scored twice as March beat City fourths 6-2 in Division Three North West and there was a remarkable game in Division Four North West as Deeping seconds triumphed 4-3 at Ely seconds.
Henry Winsfield-Chislett clinched it with the last hit of the game, only seconds after Deeping defender Jaz Phagoora had saved a penalty flick.
Phagoora was forced between the sticks as their regular goalkeeper had been sin-binned for contesting the award of the penalty. Deeping had four players sin-binned at various times during a competitive match.
Newcomer Neil Barnstall scored four times as City fifths beat Horncastle 7-4 and City's young eighth team beat St Neots fifths 5-0 in Division Seven North West with man-of-the-match Cameron Heald among the scorers.
City's Veterans eased through the first round of the National Veterans Cup with a 7-1 success over Havering. Peter Loader bagged a hat-trick.
City of Peterborough Ladies were delighted with their 0-0 draw with East Division One North leaders Colchester. It was the first points dropped by Colchester.
Bourne and Wisbech are above City in the table. Bourne ruined the unbeaten record of Ipswich as goals from Karen Timby and Jacqui Hunter secured a 2-1 win, while Claire Apted, wife of Bradley, scored for Wisbech in a 1-1 draw with lowly Watton.
