PETERBOROUGH Rugby Club's annual Summer Camp for kids was once again a huge success with almost 80 youngsters aged between seven and 16 attending over the five days.
The programme of events put together by the Australian Ladies international coach Shirley Russell covered the basics of passing, catching and tackling and progressed to more advanced techniques towards the end of the week, such as scrummaging, lineouts and threequarter moves.

Apart from Russell, other coaches in attendance were Shaun Crowley, an RFU community development coach, Marty Stanley, brother of All Black Jo Stanley, and Francis Stowers from North Harbour in New Zealand. And they were assisted by club coaches, Justin Missin, John Sismey, Andy McGeown, Ian Deacon, Nicky McClure and Tom McClure.

The final day culminated in the presentation of awards, made by Borough first team player Jon Phillips, the former Northampton and England Under 21 player.

Award winners were:

7 & 8s age group: Sam Missin - best participant, Isaac Bachl - most improved.

9s & 10s: Joshua Yeeles - best participant, David Runnacres - most improved.

11s, 12s & 13s: John Beck - best participant, Will Beal - most improved.

14s, 15s & 16s: Alex Masters - best participant, Nathan Deacon - most improved.

Overall Player of the Camp: Craig Darlington.
