As expected there was a big upset in the Angling Times Team Championship match which was switched from the weed covered Twenty Foot Drain onto the North Level system.
Host club Sensas Mark One had high hopes of pulling themselves back into contention after an indifferent start to the new series but as the results were read out the best they could manage was fourth on the day.
City side Peterborough, who were a
lso still contention, also saw their hopes drift away as they finished in sixth position.
The fen drain did fish quite well in places, but unfortunately there were also some very poor and patchy sections throughout the match length.
Top rod from the newly introduced sections just above Clough Bridge was John Hazelden. He had a mad 40-minute spell which saw him netting skimmers and bream but then had to sit out the rest of the match without a bite. Thankfully for him he had more than enough, weighing in 19lb 7oz.
Runner-up was Brian Harding on 13lb 8oz followed by Paul Hendy with 12lb 14oz.
Top team were the Huntingdon-based Fox Match Stanjay Black side. They put a fine scorecard together finishing on just 26 points. They now sit at the top of the league with just two rounds to go, a point clear of Browning Hotrods.
This Sunday will see a practice match on Ramsey waters in preparation for round five. The sections are expected to be Factory Bank, Ramsey Narrows and the Old Nene at Benwick.

Once again there was a good turnout for the JVAC event so match organisers decided on a pairs event split between the Horseshoe and Lou's Pool at Decoy.
Top two on Horseshoe were Mike Mitchell with a level 64lb and Terry Tribe on 57lb.
Alan Warren had top weight on Lou's with 48lb 14oz followed by Nick Carlton on 34lb 9oz.
The combined points of Andy Gausden and Mike Mitchell together with a good weight advantage saw them take the pairs competition.
The Conservative Club's season came to an end at the weekend on the Six Islands Pool at Decoy Lakes.
Bob Walker certainly had a day to remember finishing top with 34lb 6oz which was more than enough to give him the overall Summer League title.
Graham Rootham was second on the day with 30lb 6oz which gave him third in the League. He was pipped at the post overall by Bill Ringer, who came third on the day with 27lb 2oz.
Ramsey narrows continues to be one of the best venues in the area at the moment.
In Sunday's Ramsey AS match Andrew Kilby came out on top thanks to three big tench and a net of small roach and skimmers weighing in at 19lb 11oz.
Runner-up was Paul Irons. He took skimmers and roach on the pole with pinkie and red maggot to record 9lb 3oz followed by Roger Gowler on 9lb.
The latest Whittlesey club match was fished on a windswept Bevills Leam at the Carrot Wash and with clear water and no flow until the pumps started up a few anglers did manage to put a respectable weight together.
Simon Godfrey had done the business before the worst of the weather arrived with 7lb 4oz - mostly roach and rudd on the pole - and included two decent bonus perch on the worm line.
Runner-up was Andy Lawrence with 4lb 12oz and in third place was Dave Marzell with 3lb 2oz.
The Yaxley, Farcet, Holme and DAC members were full of anticipation before their points match fished at the Bower at Whittlesey after hearing of near double-figure weights being taken midweek. However it did not live up to expectation, possibly due to the recent heavy rain.
Winner Ivan Marriott managed to put more fish on the scales than all of the other anglers put together. Pegged near the cut at the bungalows, he caught well on bread punch and hemp for 3lb 13oz of skimmers and roach, fishing four metres out.
Runner-up Paul Marriott caught skimmers, roach and a small chub for 1lb 9oz, all taken on bread punch at seven metres.
John Furnell weighed in a roach and a perch for third place with just 5oz.
A new set of fresh faces are starting to make their mark in the Deeping St James AC matches.
This week it was the turn of the latest recruit Stuart Redman to score a decisive victory when the club fished a sweepstake on the match lake at Gedney's North View Fishery.
Redman is an experienced open match angler who has recently turned his hand to stillwater events and is proving to be a force to be reckoned with on the local club scene.
It was tough going for all in the first half of the match then suddenly the fish switched on.
Redman's pellet-caught catch of 37lb 10oz was more than enough to take first place. In the battle for the runner-up spot Hugh Mannall's 26lb 10oz catch pipped Ray Torrington by 8oz.
In the Wednesday Tydd Gote match fished at Clough Bridge, Martin Caldecote took the top spot with a mixed bag of skimmers, roach and perch for 6lb 14oz.
Second place went to Parson Drove rod John Spalton with 6lb 11oz followed by Mick King on 6lb 8oz.
In Sunday's club match again on the first few pegs at Clough Bridge, Paul Constable had 7lb 9oz for first place, then came Colin Burton on 5lb 12 oz and Ray Groom with 5lb 11oz.
In the ACA Pike Qualifier match there were lots of fish taken from French Drove. Out in front with a six-fish catch was Rod Newton. He weighed in a total of 23lb 11oz, his best fish going 7lb 11oz.
Runner-up was Robert Hurst with five fish for 22lb 5oz followed by Norman Knightly on 17lb 3oz.
