SPEEDWAY: A former Panthers rider from Huntingdon has been handed a shock call-up to the Great Britain fold when the World Cup comes to the Showground next month.
Danny King, who spent the last two seasons on loan with the city club before returning to parent outfit Ipswich this year, will be part of the GB side doing battle against Australia, Poland and Slovenia at Alwalton on July 13.

The British line-up was announced by team manager Rob Lyon last night. There is no place for former skipper Scott Nicholls or classy ex-Panthers man Lee Richardson.

Australia are expected to include Panthers legend Ryan Sullivan in their quintet.

GB team: Chris Harris, Edward Kennett, Tai Woffinden, Lewis Bridger, Danny King.
