GUEST star Rory Schlein is relishing the prospect of keeping Panthers in the Elite League as the city club tackle two of the most crucial meetings in their history.
The Australian ace can become an instant Peterborough hero by helping them to relegation play-off glory against Wolverhampton at Monmore Green tonight (7.30pm start) and back at the Showground on Thursday.

Schlein reckons Wolves are vulnerable on
their own Monmore Green patch tonight and also believes Panthers will ooze strength in the second leg at the Showground. The losers then face the Premier League play-off winners with their Elite League lives on the line.

Schlein said: "I've done a couple of guest bookings for Peterborough in the past and didn't have any hesitation in accepting the offer to ride.

"We have to hit Wolverhampton early and hit them hard. I feel they are vulnerable on their home track because some of their riders don't seem to have adapted to the track.

"On the other hand Peterborough are always very strong at the Showground. Kenneth Bjerre and Danny King go really well round there, I will be hopeful of double-figures and the boys at reserve – Karol Zabik and Claus Vissing – are also really tough to beat."

But Panthers-owned Wolves star Niels Kristian Iversen (who helped the city club to title glory two years ago alongside fellow Wolves man Jesper B. Monberg) has warned the city side they won't find it easy to emerge victorious.

He said: "I think we will win comfortably tonight because Panthers have a lot of riders that won't go well around our track.

"We need to build a big lead to bring back to Peterborough when guys like myself and Jesper will have to score points. I think it is going to be really close either way."

Poole were crowned Elite League champions last night after completing their Grand Final demolition of Lakeside.

The Dorset men followed up a 48-42 first leg away triumph with a 60-33 drubbing at Wimborne Road to seal a 108-75 aggregate success.
