World’s top skate parks

16th January 2013

Advertorial Feature

What do you look for in a skate park? Just a space where you can grind or shred? Or a world renowned spot where top skaters and BMX riders head to? If you’re a little bored of the same old half pipe or bowl at your local park, it could be time for you and your mates to grab your boards, BMXs and bike helmets and get travelling.

Here are our favourite skate parks from around the world.

Black Pearl Skate Park, Cayman Islands

You don’t get many better settings than the Cayman Islands. So while you’re there make sure you head to the world’s largest outdoor concrete skate park – Black Pearl. The park covers 52,000 square feet and has something for everyone of all skill levels. The world’s largest wave pool is right next door too. Why would you ever want to leave?

Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park, California

This park is simply amazing and just can’t be bettered anywhere in the world. Here you’ll find the breathtaking 70 foot long, 22 foot wide full pipe, as well as bowls, pools, thimbles, cradles, a mega wall and a street course. This is also a top park for those who want to jump on their BMX bikes and join the skaters on some of the best riding you can get in California. And with other parks such as the VANS skate park (yes that’s world renowned skater shoe company VANS), that’s a pretty big claim.

Marseille Skate Park, France

You can build the biggest skate park in the world, but it will never work for true skaters if it doesn’t have the right vibe. This is something that makes this urban skate park renowned throughout Europe. From the graffiti covered bowls and verts, it’s the unique style of this spot that really sets it apart. It looks amazing and it won’t disappoint when you get on your board.

Amazing Square Skate Park, Japan

The Japanese don’t do things by halves, and with their love for street sports you can imagine that this park completely lives up to its name. So, what does the AMAZING skate park have in store for you? To start with, there’s a massive half pipe – and then everything else you’d expect from one of the world’s best skate parks. That good enough for you? Well why don’t you check it out? If ever anyone needed an excuse to go to Tokyo. We can’t wait to get going.
