WHITTLESEY boss Paul Humphries was impressed by both the attitude and performance of his players during a 3-0 success over Parson Drove.
Garry Jackson, Ashley Jackson and Ian Christine hit the goals.

Christine tucked away from the spot after Drove had seen keeper Adam Wright dismissed by referee Reg Parker – a decision that upset boss Nick Markillie.

He said: "Adam brought the Whittlesey lad down, no doubt about it. But the player picked himself up and was walking the ball into an empty net when the referee blew up, gave a penalty and sent Adam off.

"We have no complaints about the result because we were nowhere near good enough, but the sending off was a real kick in the teeth."

DEEPING Sports boss Alex Brown was glad to see the back of Saturday afternoon.

A smashing debut display from left-back John Armstrong was the highlight of a 5-1 win at Oundle that kept Brown's men two points clear at the top.

Armstrong scored one goal and made another with Ryan Birtles (2), Paul Kirk and Michael Woodcock also finding the net. Dean Clarke scored for Oundle.

Brown said: "We needed a left back and John came in and did ever so well. But there is not a lot else to say about the game."
