BOURNE legend Darren Munton is back in the Abbey Lawns hot-seat for the rest of the season.
The former Wakes player and manager will take charge until the club appoint a permanent successor to Glenn Notley, who resigned at the beginning of the week.
Munton has stepped up in Bourne's hour of need ahead of tomorrow's United Counties League
Premier Division trip to Cogenhoe, but he is not in the frame for the job.
However, Bourne chairman Andy Stubley insists the club won't rush into appointing a permanent successor to Notley.
He said: "The search for a new manager commences now but it is not something we are going to rush into for the sake of it.
"We will bide our time and look for the right guy who has some experience and knowledge of this level of football.
"Darren has asked not to be considered for the job as he is more than happy looking after the reserve side, but he is prepared to oversee training and team selection until the time that a new manager is appointed.
"I expect Darren will look after things until the end of the season and he has Phil Jarman, who has stayed on as assistant manager, to help."
"As for Glenn, my telephone is always on and the door is always open, but he is his own man and a very determined individual."
Blackstones entertain basement boys Kempston Rovers while Deeping host S & L Corby at Outgang Road.
Both local sides are away in Division One with Huntingdon visiting Daventry United and Northern Star going to Olney.
BRETT Whaley has challenged his March men to follow up a decent away display by finally giving their home fans something to cheer.
The Hares have performed better on the road than at their GER base in the Ridgeons First Division this season and that has to change according to the boss.
And successive home clashes against strugglers Thetford (tomorrow) and Stowmarket (next Saturday) provide the ideal opportunity.
Whaley said: "We have to be looking to take maximum points from both games and that would go a long way towards sorting our home form out.
"We showed at Clacton last week end that we are capable of going away and picking up decent draws on the road, but it is vital for every team to win their home games.
"I still have my sights set on a mid-table finish and six points from these matches would really help."
Defender Matt Cook shone on his March return at Clacton after a spell with Huntingdon Town. Sam Bate could partner him tomorrow after serving a suspension last weekend.
GOALKEEPER Ian Pledger could line up for Spalding for the last time tomorrow.
Pledger is set to move to Stamford in the next few days but is available for the Tulips' trip to Belper in Division One South of the Unibond League.
It is a must-win match to mark Alan Biley's return to the Tulips helm as they bid to wipe out a six-point deficit on their closest rivals and escape the clutches of relegation.
One player Biley will not be able to call upon is suspended centre-back Gary Pawson, but locally-based midfielder Ian Fovargue did return to the Tulips fold for the first time in several weeks when they lost at home to Retford on Tuesday night.
Stamford are without a fixture this weekend.
