A FREAK goal from keeper Tom Roberts helped Pinchbeck stretch their surprise 100 per cent start to the Peugeot Premier Division season.
Roberts' incredibly found the net with a free-kick from the edge of his own area as the Lincolnshire side defeated struggling Wimblington 3-1 on Saturday.
His big launch bounced over stranded Wimblington stopper Adam Westwood whose desperate atte
mpts to reach the ball were in vain.
New boss Peter Roberts has enjoyed a great start in the Pinchbeck hot-shot. His outfit are one of only two teams - the other being table-topping Ramsey - to boast a 100 per cent record.
Manager Roberts said: "Tom is one of the best keepers around for kicking and he did once score a goal in youth football.
"I thought to myself when the ball was in the air that it was going to go in, but I felt for the Wimblington keeper to concede like that.
"I am really happy with the start we've made though and no manager can ask for anymore than maximum points.
"Things are going great and it is all down to the hard work that everyone is putting in."
Pinchbeck were actually behind to a Kevin Holt goal in a fixture played at Bushfield in the city, but Steve Wells levelled before Roberts struck.
A Liam Harrison effort confirmed Pinchbeck's superiority and left Wimblington boss Chris Bartlett trying to forget a difficult start to the season.
He said: "It is safe to say I haven't enjoyed the last couple of weeks much. After starting with a draw at Moulton Harrox we have been well beaten in three games.
"I don't have an assistant manager and could really do with some help because it is proving hard work at the moment.
"We need to forget about what has happened and start our season again this weekend."
