A BEARDED bike-riding TV duo have backed a brave bowel cancer sufferer who hit the road on his motorcycle to raise awareness of the disease.
The Hairy Bikers – Simon King and Dave Myers – who tour the globe in search of mouthwatering recipes, wished Sean Porter lots of luck as he embarked on his voyage around the Scottish coast with his pal, Simon Martin.

Sean (37), from Oundle, was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago, and despite it being in the advanced stages, he is determined to fight it.

He decided to jump on his treasured bike with his friend Simon, from Thrapston, in a bid to spur young men with symptoms of the disease to get themselves checked out and to raise cash for Bowel Cancer UK.

And the good wishes from the Hairy Bikers may well have been the magic ingredient, as Sean and Simon managed to raise £3,337.

He said:"Men do not discuss their bowel habits with either their wives, girlfriends or mates, yet correct diagnosis could save you a load of grief and years of discomfort."
