Posh stormed past 100 goals for the season during a 4-1 thumping of Grimsby at Blundell Park.
MK Dons win at Bradford confirmed them as League Two champions, but Posh still delivered a pulsating performance to complete their away programme.
The goals were all superbly crafted for Aaron Mclean (2), Craig Mackail-Smith and substitute Scott Rendell.
Mclean is now just one short of 30 for the League Two season.
Grimsby had made it 2-1 with a scrappy goal from substitute Martin Butler.
But Posh could have had more goals as Dean Keates struck the crossbar direct from a free-kick and Craig Morgan saw a volley from a first half corner booted off the line.
