DOMINIC Green insists Posh will not be able to take underdogs Dagenham & Redbridge lightly in tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at London Road (7pm kick-off).
The teenage winger made four appearances for 'The Daggers' before joining Posh during the August transfer window and is therefore well aware of their strengths.

Green believes a Posh side buoyed by successive wins over local rivals and MK Dons and League One title favourites Leeds United cannot afford to be over-confident against the side currently sitting fifth in League Two.

Green said: "Dagenham are much stronger now than they were last season. I was confident during pre-season that we were going to have a good season so the results so far have not surprised me at all.

"They will be well organised and they will be keen to beat a team from a higher division.

"They didn't play their first-choice team in the last round, but they will want to put on a good performance here.

"There are some good players at the club and we will have to be at our best to get through.

"Obviously I hope I will be playing as there was plenty of banter flying around between me and their players when the draw was made.

"It's amazing what's happened to me since coming here though. To come on as a substitute against MK Dons and score was great and to start against Leeds in such a big game was fantastic.

"I wasn't that happy with the way I played against Leeds though. It was good to be involved in the opening goal even if I did handball it, but I know I can do much better than that."

Tonight's contest will be something of a re-union as Posh stars Craig Mackail-Smith, Shane Blackett and Shaun Batt have also played for Dagenham.

Dagenham are managed by ex-Posh boss John Still and have ex-Posh players Peter Gain, Shane Huke and Mark Arber in their squad.

Blackett will not be involved this evening and his dislocated shoulder is also expected to keep him out of Saturday's tough-looking League One trip to Walsall when Posh will also be without first-choice centre-backs Craig Morgan and Gaby Zakuani because of international call-ups.

Morgan will play tonight, but Zakuani is in Africa with the DR Congo squad. Midfielder Paul Coutts is out tonight with an ankle injury picked up in Saturday's win over Leeds, while Dean Keates and Sergio Torres remain on the sidelines.

Tonight's match has reduced admission prices of £12 adults and £8 for senior citizens and students. Under 16s will be admitted free as long as they are accompanied by a full paying adult, otherwise it will cost them £5.
