Striker Craig Mackail-Smith was linked with a £1 million move to Championship title favourites Birmingham City in The People newspaper on Sunday.
But posh manager Darren Ferguson said: "Speculation is bound to be rife the way some of our players are performing.

"Craig could have had 20 goals this season already, but I'm under no pressure to sell anyone and £1 million certainly wouldn't be enough to get him anyway."

The Daily Mirror has a report that Cardiff city are interested in Mackail-Smith.

The Mirror has also suggested Queens Park Rangers are preparing a £2m bid for Posh's England under-21 keeper Joe Lewis.

Lets face it when there is a transfer window the tabloids have nothing to write between September and December.

This is pure speculation and is just made up by idiots in London

D.F. is quite right to tell other clubs who are sniffing at our best players to SOD OFF. The asking or starting price should about £10m each. Pay up or shut up.

Roger le Chat, what a plank!!....CMS is quality and I have NEVER said anything against either player, you could never question a player who works tirlessley every game and Lewis rarely makes an error and gets hammered when he does.

The price of success. There will be plenty of this kinda thing, get used to it. The People and the Mirror? Trashy rags anyway. They print what they like and hope its right! LOL

I'm sure we'll lose a couple sometime in the not too distant... we just have to hold on to them as long as we can, make sure we have more coming through and ensure we get as much as we can for them when it is time to sell. Tabloid trash I'm sure.....for now!

To be fair the money we could get for Lewis and CMS would buy much, much better imho. I would fully trust Barry to negotiate some superb transfer fees and then replace both with better players, that's why he is the best at his job. CMS misses far too many chances, even though I like him and Lewis can be very dodgy at times as already proven this season.
