RUSSELL Martin is the first Posh signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old Wycombe right-back agreed a three-year contract with manager Darren Ferguson and Director of Football Barry Fry yesterday.

Martin, a former England youth international, is out of contract at Wycombe after four years at his sole professional club. He will cost Posh a fee because he is too young to qualify for a Bosman free transfer.

Martin has made over 100 appearances for Wycombe and was a regular in the side that reached the League Two play-offs last season.

Meanwhile the dream lives on for Posh goalkeeper Joe Lewis. The 20 year-old sat on the substitutes' bench as England beat the United States 2-0 in an international friendly at Wembley last night.

And last night he was told he would be staying with the senior squad for Sunday's international in Trinidad and Tobago. Lewis is the first Posh player to receive an international call-up.

Good signing, as for wolves £1m what a joke.

I think Joe might get a few mins in Trinidad too!

Why is a million a joke? He has scored in League 2 and non-league only, so a fair valuation. He is not worth 5 million or something stupid.

£1 million is a joke cos we turned down 2 million from Charlton in January. Valuation or not we don't need to sell anyone thats the fact!!

It depends on what the player wants to do. If he wants to join Wolves and warm their bench, so be it, let him go. We will still make a nice profit from the £150k we paid for him and we can get someone else in.

I'd rather lose McLean than CMS or Boyd any day of the week.

I think Posh will do okay in League 1 but may be forced to sell if they can't go straight into the Championship.
