WALSALL manager Jimmy Mullen has joined the ever-increasing band of Posh supporters.
Mullen saw a six-game unbeaten run ended by the best display he'd seen from an opposition side all season as goals from Shaun Batt and Chris Whelpdale secured a 2-1 away win.

Mullen said: "I have no complaints about the result. Peterborough are a
very good, well-organised side who taught us a lesson.

"That was the best display anyone has given against us this season, although we contributed to our own downfall thanks to a lunatic decision from one of our centre-halves in the second minute."

"Stephen Roberts has dived in and let their striker charge unopposed into our area to create the first goal. That left us with a mountain to climb against such good opposition.

"I was particularly disappointed with the performance of our strikers.

"Peterborough had problems in the middle of their defence with players away on international duty and we enjoyed a clear height and weight advantage, but failed to make that physical strength count.

"We didn't put them under enough pressure and that really disappointed me, but we have to admit that the better team won."

Posh leap-frogged Walsall into seventh place in League One following a third successive victory. They are now just one point outside the play-off zone.
