Published Date: 17 July 2008
Thursday, 9.50am: Peterborough United striker Aaron Mclean has come off the transfer list.
The goal-getter, whose future has been subject of much speculation and attracted bids from Championship side Wolves, handed in a transfer request earlier this month.

That prompted club owner Darragh MacAnthony to slap a £3m upfront transfer fee on his head.

Today, however, the club have announced that he has come off the transfer list at his own request.

Are you happy with Mclean's decision and can the club and player put all the close-season speculation behind them and launch a promotion winning League One Campaign? Comment below.

It's good news - but I imagine he'll get a bit of a frosty response from the fans in the first few games of the season. He's got some work to do to regain our trust.

Still we talk of betrayal and trust being an issue, people need reality checks if they give this guy abuse.....

Fair play, D Mac as usual wins...

Maybe someone finally squashed his 'cockroach' agent!!!

Great news for Posh, I can't wait for the new season. I think we must have one of the strongest first teams in the league.

Fantastic news! Don't think it was Aaron that really wanted to go in the first place. His greedy agent was behind all this. I just hope Aaron sees sense and gets rid before his agent sullens his reputation further!!

Hamptonposh - Aaron is not a child. It was he who handed in the transfer request, not his agent.
I can't believe he would ask to leave if he didn't actually want to - he must have known the damage it would do to his reputation.

This is good news. I hope Aaron has the nous to ditch that greedy agent, but it is up to him alone.
May he knock them in as prolifically as he did last season.
Words of congratulation to Posh management are well due here.

Well we wanted 'young hungry players' so this is what you can expect to happen again in the future. I dont blame Aaron at all, he saw a chance and went for it. As long as he keeps doing that on the pitch I'll always be a fan.

We all make mistakes, it's how you learn from them that count's! Anyone who boo's him is brain dead. This guy will be on fire now you see!
