Kieran Charnock is in the frame

POSH may have to put their faith in a player they don't want at Walsall on Saturday.
Transfer-listed centre-back Kieran Charnock is in line for a shock recall at The Bescot Stadium because of international call-ups and injuries.
First-choice defenders Craig Morgan and Gaby Zakuani are on international duty, while Shane Blackett has been ruled out as his recovery from a dislocated shoulder is not yet complete.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson did want to pair Charlie Lee and former Walsall centre-back Chris Westwood at the heart of his defence this Saturday, but the latter is struggling with a calf injury.
Ferguson said: "Chris is struggling. It's touch and go for him so we will leave it until the last minute before making a definite decision.
"If he doesn't make it, Kieran will play. He is available for transfer because his opportunities here will be limited.
"He understands that situation, but he is a good professional so if I have to call on him I am confident he will do a good job for us.
"It's not a problem for me. Kieran is still in the building and if he plays and does well it won't do his chances of getting a move any harm at all.
"Shane Blackett is almost ready to return, but Saturday will come too soon for him. He should be available for the trip to Carlisle next week."
Posh have had a few inquiries for Charnock, but no firm offers for a player signed from Northwich Victoria 18 months ago. Charnock is understood to be keen on a return to the North of England.
Ferguson is confident he will see a positive reaction from his players at Walsall following the disappointment of losing to League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.
Posh went down 1-0 at London Road prompting Ferguson to describe the display as 'unacceptable'.
Ferguson added: "We trained yesterday and the lads were very quiet. We all expected to beat Dagenham, but for some reason we just didn't perform.
"We are all very disappointed because we wanted to keep our good little run of unbeaten games going, but it's gone now and we have to make amends at Walsall.
