DARREN Ferguson believes Posh can attract an army of new fans by putting on a dazzling show live on television tomorrow.
The League One clash with Bristol Rovers at London Road is being screened on Sky Sports and, while the club are bracing themselves for a lower than normal attendance, Ferguson sees it as a perfect opportunity to impress a national audience.

Fergus
on said: "It's a perfect game for us. There might be a few stay away because the match is on television, but the players have the platform to show just how good they are.

"We play entertaining football and if we play as well as we can, we will impress a big audience. It won't be an easy game as Rovers will be well organised and they have a couple of strikers in very good form.

"But, like every home game, it's all about how we play. We've had an excellent week in training and I can sense the lads are going to put on a strong performance."

Experienced centre-back Chris Westwood trained with the first-team squad yesterday, but is still rated as 50/50 to play tomorrow. Charlie Lee is expected to deputise alongside Shane Blackett in the heart of the Posh defence should Westwood be ruled out.

Central defender Kieran Charnock is expected to leave Posh on loan next week. League Two outfits Accrington and Morecambe are among the clubs believed to be interested in the former Northwich Victoria defender.

Good luck to Charnock, another messed about by our erratic transfer policy. We sign substandard non-league players and then a month into the season we suddenly realise that fact and hit the panic button.
If we ever believed in players abilities shouldn't we have given them a run in the team to give them a chance to show if they were good enough? Paul Coutts hasn't even made the bench this season yet we're trying to sign another player in his position on loan.

Its all very well playing champanyne football, but results are what get teams their points, not who outplayed who and still lost!?!

I would rather play like Wimbeldon of old and win 80% of our games.....

Oh well, we are having a bit of a culture shock and my comments regarding our forwards last year is coming true just hope Rendell gets the nod soon, otherwise it will be a waste of money having him here!
