Charlie Lee: Posh can count on me

CHARLIE Lee insists solving Posh's defensive crisis holds no fears.
The midfield man is likely to partner Shane Blackett in central defence when Posh take on Bristol Rovers in a League One clash to be televised on Sky Sports on Saturday lunchtime.
Boss Darren Ferguson has a chronic shortage of defenders with skipper Craig Morgan away on international duty with Wales and loan capture Gaby Zakuani not formally signing at London Road until next week.
Chris Westwood is facing a race against time to shake off a hamstring problem while Kieran Charnock is on the transfer list, meaning Lee could get the nod.
And the former Spurs man is ready for the job. He said: "I don't mind where I play and if it is at the back, I will do the job to the best of my ability.
"I have played in the centre of defence plenty of times before so it is not something that will be strange to me."
Westwood won't risk returning unless he has fully recovered from the injury that has sidelined him for the past fortnight.
Posh have been beaten by both Scunthorpe and Hartlepool in his absence and Westwood admits being reduced to the role of spectator is seriously frustrating.
He said: "I don't like missing matches and it has been really frustrating on the sidelines.
"With Craig away on international duty I am keen to come back, but I will only return if I am ready and fully fit.
"I am hopeful of returning to training before the end of the week, but I obviously don't want to rush back and make the injury any worse."
Posh have made their home clash against Leeds United on October 4 all ticket.
