CHARLIE Lee's reward for a man-of-the-match display in Posh's 2-1 win at Walsall was a battered and bruised body.
Lee formed a makeshift central defensive partnership with transfer-listed Kieran Charnock, but they performed so well together the home side managed just a 95th minute consolation goal from a corner.
Lee won the majority of his headers despite conceding several inches in height to the Walsall strikers, but it was tough going for the former Spurs youngster.
Lee said: "I took a couple of elbows to the nose in the first half, but I expected that sort of game and I am delighted with how things turned out in the end."

"I played centre-half virtually all the time in my Spurs career so it wasn't a totally new experience for me.
"I just concentrated on getting in front of the striker to make some interceptions and it came off for me.
"Kieran Charnock was fantastic as well. It wasn't easy out there for either of us, but we did a good job.
"It's a great win for the lads and we were just disappointed to let a goal in at the death."
Posh boss Darren Ferguson was thrilled by the performances of Lee and Charnock in the absence of regular centre-backs Gaby Zakuani and Craig Morgan who were away on international duty.
He also revealed that some of his players were not happy that they'd only won by one goal!
Ferguson said: "It just shows how far we've come in a short time that the lads were arguing straight after the game about only winning 2-1!
"We had so many chances to score it was ridiculous that we only scored twice, but that was the only disappointment from an outstanding performance.
"The early goal from Shaun Batt was a real bonus and once we got through a rocky 15 minutes after taking the lead, I felt we were totally in control.
"We played with great composure and great intelligence. It was the response I expected after the disappointment of losing to Dagenham earlier in the week.
"Kieran Charnock and Charlie Lee were exceptional at the back.
"I have players coming back to the squad next week, but those two have given me a real selection problem for next week.
"Until they scored in the last minute they really didn't test us. They had a few long shots and set-pieces, but we were in total control.
"I don't think anyone could deny that it was a thoroughly deserved victory."
