Robert Graves runs the Posh fans team that will travel the country playing teams of supporters from other League One clubs. He is more confident of success for Darren Ferguson's side than his own.
Graves said: "Fifth. I'll throw that right out there as a prediction for the 2008-09 season. I have no formula as to why, I just know that I really don't want to predict anything higher in case I jinx it, and I absolutely can't go any lower because I feel we genuinely have a talented squad in place that could do very, very well this coming season.
"Darren has in the main kept the faith with the squad he had last year, but the few additions so far undoubtedly do add extra strength in depth.
"Aaron Mclean deciding to stay has obviously been a huge boost, but I really hope the step-up could actually benefit many of the players in terms of the time and space they may get.
"It's still going to be hard and physical of course, but we might just see a few more teams come to London Road and at least try to play football.
"From my own team's point of view, we've lost some great friends like Grimsby, Darlington, and Bury, but I can't wait to meet the likes of Leicester City, Bristol Rovers, MK Dons, Tranmere Rovers, and of course Northampton.
"A top 20 finish eluded us last season, so we're even more determined to get there this time around."
