POSH chairman Darragh MacAnthony has set his club some ambitious targets for 2008-09.
And if his hopes and dreams are realised, Posh fans could be in for another season full of thrills, spills and glorious entertainment.

MacAnthony wants:

  • Average crowds of 7,500.

  • Posh to score more goals than any other side in the Football League.

  • One of the Posh strikers to win the League One Golden Boot and to be the leading scorer in the entire Football League.

  • Posh to win League One and bring some long overdue silverware to London Road.

  • Posh to have two lucrative cup runs.

  • To be able to turn down a £4 million bid for one of his players.

  • To announce a completion date for the club's new 20,000 all-seater stadium.

  • To see a local player come through the ranks and play in the first team.

  • To improve the infrastructure at the club which in turn will improve the services to the loyal fan base.

Posh season preview: Come On Boro!
Your guide to Peterborough United's 2008/09 League One season.
---------------------------

Posh have already hit MacAnthony's season-ticket target of 3,500 for the forthcoming campaign. He aimed for and achieved an average gate of 5,500 in League Two last season and Aaron Mclean won the League Two Golden Boot after scoring 29 goals.

Posh also turned down two bids in excess of £1 million for Mclean from Championship side Wolves.

MacAnthony said: "I don't ask for much and I am always confident in anything I do.

"I honestly think this team of ours have so much more potential and the way the manager encourages them to play, there should be some incredible football to be seen this season.

"Last season was brilliant with some great periods of success, but this season I think it is imperative for us to win six out of the first 10 League One games to give us a chance of winning the title.

"It's going to be exciting once more to be a fan and indeed the owner of the club and I for one, can't bloody wait!"

I hope Darragh is right on all of the above. However, I just cannot see Posh winning the title and think promotion will be a struggle.

If the team can stay injury free they have an outside chance but a couple of injuries will expose a lack of depth in some areas.

I hope they do it but be happy to consolidate this season and push on next season.

How can you judge someone to be morally bankrupt. You can't even spell the word. What other truths have you got from the telly?

So Borian raises his ugly head and venomous tongue once more...Where were you at the end of last season...we'd hoped you were choking on all that humble pie, but it appears you did the hide your head in the sand and hope everybody forgets the rubbish you drivelled throughout last season.

I bet ITV can afford to pay more in damages than you can Borian, watch that dodgy digit of yours on that keyboard, it could cost you a lot more than you think.

Who wrote that? the Head of MRI Overseas Properties Sales Training? Following yet another undercover TV programme into the running of his "dodgy" business Im surprised McAnthony dare show his face in public again! but Posh fans dont care where the money comes from so long as it buys success! Mcanthony may think himself wealthy but hes morally bancrupt!

Did you really believe that? If you did then obviously you are as thick as you appear. Tell me, did they use disabled people to get their point across again?

Peter Borian, where were you when common sense was being given out. I would say bottom of the pile.

Thats twice borian has commented in the last few days both times mentioning the fact he saw a tv programme!! He is a business man for gods sake, he does well and is great for the club, as you clearly stated at the end of last season you dont go to see or support POSH, so why dont you do us all a favour and F*U*C*K off?? - also were you abused by a friendly, rich man when you were younger? that would certainly explain your resentment!
