CONTINUING our new feature entitled the A to Z of Posh:
B

Great

Terry Bly (1960-62)

Appearances: 101

Goals: 87
A true Posh legend even though he wasn't at the club that long. His 52 goals in one Football League season will never be bettered nor will his goals per game ratio.

Bly was the spearhead of the greatest Posh attack in the club's history, scoring goals with both feet and his head.

Some said he was lucky to have so many gifted players around him, but his real good fortune was being blessed with natural finishing ability.

Very Good

George Boyd (2006-now).

Appearances: 76

Goals: 22

Boyd is a certainty to achieve legendary status. He is a crowd-pleasing, wing wizard with so many tricks membership of the Magic Circle can't be far away.

He can finish and he can create. George is simply a genius.

Good

Jimmy Bullard (2001-03)

Appearances: 77

Goals: 14.

Bullard was a nutcase, but boy he could play. He had so much energy he should have been sponsored by Duracell.

Memorable

Barnet (1998, 2000)

Barnet provided two of the most memorable games in Posh history, a record 9-1 away win at Underhill in 1998 and David Farrell's unforgettable hat-trick in a play-off semi-final at London Road two years later.

John Still, a man who had a hate-hate relationship with Posh fans, was manager of Barnet on both occasions.

Bad

Mick Bodley (1966-99)

Apperarances: 109

Goals: 1

Bodley was compared to Beckenbauer by Barry Fry when he signed. He was compared to Pinocchio when he left as he appeared to need strings to keep him up.

Forgettable

Boxing Day (virtually every year)

The one day in the calendar every Posh fan dreads and not just because of cold turkey. Our last 10 Boxing Day games have yielded a record of P10 W0 D1 L9 F5 A23.
