I want to learn to smile again,
Though all the news is sad.
I'd like to laugh and joke again,
But everything is bad.
Happiness is in short supply,
Like money and a friendly grin.
Strangers act like mortal foes,
And I don't know where to begin.

How do you tell a person in a hurry,
That there's nothing worth hurrying for?
You want to tell them life is too short,
But they wish you would fall through the floor.

Retired, disabled and really quite bored,
This poem is all I can do.
So thank you for reading my rambling prose,
And I'm wondering: "How was it for you?"
