Poem: by Emma Donohoe

Poets' Corner in Saturday's ET is one of our most popular features. To celebrate National Poetry day, here's a selection of some of the great poems we are sent every week:
I could look at the clouds and just see the sky
the mass of turquoise floating
I could look at the flowers, the rush of colour
the soft coloured candy coating
And yet beyond what I see, and beyond what I hear
I know nothing compares to when I have you near,
For only I can recognise, identify your character,
Your character of which I find, to be so familiar and connected with what of that is of mine.
Your heart so sweet and so very pure, which I hear my heart aching for.
You're my guide, my friend, my leading light,
Keep me safe,
From this darkening night.
