Democratic Crusade by S.Hodgson, Orton Goldhay

Horns belch out with bellowing blasts
They call up great arms and prepare for great tasks
Noble nations and civilised people
Drive down opposition and supplant with a steeple
An army of standing and ferocious respect
Once played a part, in a world now all wrecked
Commanding a past with an iron gripped fist
It plunges a blade into a now feeble mist
Yet many questions arise of the nations intent
To command and to conquer
To heal and forget - or
To take all it will
And leave a shadow instead
Its numberless victims continue to grow
A mother, a son, a father in tow
A family, a nation thrown to and fro
Is this war for freedom - how many don't know?
