Food factory manager Tony Worth has been given the royal seal of approval to become the Queen's local representative.
Mr Worth, from Holbeach, near Spalding, has been chosen by the Queen to take up the role of Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.

The father of four, who has been Vice-Lord Lieutenant for the past five years, and a deputy Lord Lieutenant since 1994, said he was delighted by his promotion.

He added: "It is an honour to represent the Queen in the county and the community."

Mr Worth will officially take over from the present Lord Lieutenant, Bridget Cracroft-Eley, who retires in October.

However, Mr Worth has been acting as the Lord Lieutenant for the last year, because Mrs Cracroft-Eley has been struggling with ill health.

In the role, the manager of QV Foods in Holbeach will arrange royal visits throughout the county, as well as carrying out other civic functions.

Mr Worth said: "I have to plan when royalty are coming to visit Lincolnshire, and also what will be on their itinerary, what they will see when they are here and how long they will be staying."
