THIS week's Pride in Peterborough T-shirt goes to Michael Meadowcroft, who donated his kidney to his younger brother Joe in 2005.
Joe had suffered with kidney problems since he was a month old, and as his condition worsened Michael thought nothing of giving him one of his, which effectively saved his life.
Joe's full story can be found on pages 8 and 9 of today's ET, but we were so impressed with Michael's courage that we decided to name him Pride of Peterborough.
"Joe didn't want me to give him a kidney, because he said he didn't want me to go through what he had. But there came a point where I thought 'enough is enough,'" Michael told ET feature writer Jemma Walton, explaining his decision to give Joe a kidney.
"Joe was going to have my kidney and that was the end of it! I hope anyone would do the same, although when I told him what I was going to do my GP took my hand and told me he was proud of me, and that he couldn't do the same if he was in my shoes.
"I get embarrassed when people say how proud of me they are – I didn't do this to be called a good lad, I did it because I love Joe."
Dad-of-three Michael (30) is planning to have his family around to his home in Middleton, Bretton, on Christmas Day.
"Family comes first for me, and it always will," he said. But I still have a donor card, and would encourage everyone to get one. If I had six kidneys I would gladly give away four!"
The ET is encouraging people to abseil off Woolworths in Bridge Street on Saturday, 6 December to raise funds for Kidney Research.
