Mrs Edna Booth of Benefield Road in Oundle celebrated her 95th birthday with her family on April 27.
Her three grown-up children, Margaret, John and Elizabeth joined her with her four grand-daughters and four great grandchildren at her home for what was a very happy day.

Mrs Booth is well known in Oundle having moved there with her husband back in the '80s to be near their son John, who was head of English at Oundle School.

Mrs Booth's husband Cecil, a retired parson and First World War veteran, died in 1988 at the age of 92.

Still very active, Mrs Booth was driving her Morris Minor Traveller up until the age of 92, and played bowls and badminton in the village well into her 80s.

John Booth said: "She's very well known in the village, a very gregarious lady who is still very much on the ball."
