FUND-RAISERS proved they could raise money in style with a blow-drying marathon in Farcet.
Miss Peterborough finalist and former winner Lisa Marie Creamer organised the charity event in aid of Cancer Research with her sponsors El-esteem, the salon where her sister Joanne works.

Miss Creamer (19) said: "As they sponsor me I thought it would be great to do some fund-raising with them and we came up with the blow drying. It was a great event and raised £150 for Cancer Research".

Salon manager Julie Piergianni, said that the salon had been surprised by the success of the event, despite the wet weather providing a bit of a dampener.

She said: "There were three of us doing the styling, myself, Joanne and Georgina. We started at 9am and finished the last style at 3pm. We had a good turnout despite the downpour and we hope to host another charity event soon".

Miss Creamer has raised more than £2,000 in total with a raffle at the Hungry Horse pub, in Westwood, further boosting the charity coffers with £219 donated on the night.

The final of Miss Peterborough takes place on Saturday night with the winner being put forward to the Miss East of England competition.
