A 13-year-old boy is among a handful of people to win the first-ever Lincolnshire Good Citizens Awards for his excellent and selfless work in the community.
Callum Corder, from Deeping St James, was awarded Young Citizen of the Year for looking after his mother, who is on crutches because of an accident and also has Myalgic Encephalopathy (ME).

The teenager helps with household chores, gardening and shopping. He has also helped his grandparents in jobs they can no longer manage and kept them company.

South Holland Users Group (SHUG), a voluntary group which runs despite loss of funding and premises came runner up for Community Group of the Year.

They were all presented with certificates and a cheque or gift card in the council chamber at county offices, in Lincoln.

County council chairman, Cllr David Dickinson, who presented the awards said there had been a good response to the awards and added: "The quality of life in Lincolnshire is enriched by countless people, dedicated to helping those less fortunate than themselves."
