WITH her blonde curls and honeyed vocals, Bryony Cooper already looks and sounds like a pop star.
And for years the ambitious 23-year-old has worked behind a desk while she could only dream of a glamorous music career.
But all that is about to change and her dreams may become a reailty.
In a about a week she will ditch her the humdrum nine to five job in Peterborough and leave family and friends behind for the bright lights of London in a bid to crack the music charts.
For Bryony has just recorded her debut album in the capital, and she knows that to promote it successfully she has to be based in the city.
So it is with a mixture of nerves and excitement that Bryony prepares to start her new life.
The singer-songwriter has been performing in pubs and clubs around the Peterborough area since she was 16, and shunned the reality TV route because, she says, she wants lasting success.
On July 19, she will wave goodbye to her family and colleagues at Peterborough Business Club, in Lincoln Road, Peterborough, where she works in admin support, and jump on a train bound for London.
Bryony, whose stage name is Madeleine (her middle name) Miller (her grandad Johnny Miller's stage name), said: "The main reason I am moving to London is so I can do acoustic gigs and build up a fanbase.
"I have already played at the 100 Club, Café de Paris and Koko.
"I have been living here since I was three, and all my friends and family are here and I love my job, but this has been a lifelong dream.
"I have been singing professionally at pubs and clubs since I was 16, but only part time and at weekends.
"I sang as soon as they let me.
"It has taken me a year to record this album and it will be released next year."
Bryony, who lives near Wisbech, was snapped up by 24/7 management after they heard her sing.
The former Spalding High School pupil knows the weeks and months ahead in a strange new city will be tough, but she has a wise head on her shoulders and a plan in place.
She said: "When I first get to London, I will do some temping work. Often you can be successful for a year before making any money.
"I am really prepared for this.
"I haven't gone down the route of the X Factor, because I wanted to do it the long way. I want this to be my career, not be a one hit wonder."
