Young Moller convinced he has got what it takesHenrik Moller insists he is ready to accept the biggest challenge of his speedway career.
The Danish youngster has been craving the chance to race regularly for his Peterborough own
ers since first becoming a club asset four years ago.
Now, after serving his speedway apprenticeship overseas and in the Premier League, the time has come for Moller to step up to the Showground plate.
Moller's first top level campaign is just days away and despite his signing drawing plenty of criticism, the 22 year-old is adamant he will justify the faith of the Panthers management.
Moller said: "All I can hope to do is show the people who don't think I'm good enough that they are wrong.
"Riders like me depend on teams giving us a chance and I am very happy that Peterborough have done that.
"I have always wanted to come up into the Elite League. It is a big step from the Premier League but I feel now is the right time to make it.
"For four years I have wanted to ride for Peterborough and I intend to make the most of my opportunity.
"I knew I would have to go away and ride in the Premier League which I have done.
"I have gained plenty of experience, I know some things that I am going to change for this year and I really hope I can do well."
Moller admits he is on a voyage of discovery this year as he has no previous experience of several Elite League tracks.
That was the case with Eastbourne until a recent pre-season practice session and Moller hopes he can make a winning return to Arlington in Panthers' first league fixture on Saturday, March 29.
And he also intends to significantly boost his basic 3.00 starting average. Moller added: "It was the first time I had been to Eastbourne and I put many, many laps in.
"My bikes felt good and I did as well after working hard on getting stronger during the winter
"The track was very slick and I know they make it a bit grippier for meetings, but it was nice to be able to race there ahead of the Panthers' meeting down there.
"There are several other Elite League tracks that I have not yet ridden like Ipswich and Lakeside so there will be a lot of new experiences for me this year.
"It will be great to have guys like Hans Andersen and Kenneth Bjerre around for advice and I would love to be able to finish the season with an average of between four and five points."
