Published Date:
13 March 2008
Track: Wimborne Road
Race-night: Wednesday
Track length: 299m
Track record: 56.91secs - Antonio Lindback, June 2006.
Team manager: Neil Middleditch
Team: Bjarne Pedersen 9.05, Davey Watt 8.06, Chris Holder 5.05, Karol Zabik 5.00, Adam Skornicki 4.89, Zibi Suchecki 3.65, Freddie Eriksson 3.06. Total: 38.76. Number eight: Jordan Frampton.

One to watch: Chris Holder - the next big thing in world speedway will prove to be the capture of the winter.

Assessment: The cocktail of two strong heat leaders in Pedersen and Watt, the hottest property in world speedway in Holder, and a sulking but sparkling young Pole in Zabik, will certainly carry Poole close to the title. Suchecki didn't set any bonfires - let alone the world - alight at Ipswich last year, but could be a shrewd signing at reserve. Champions in the making.

Plummer's prediction: 1st
