A Peterborough cricket club has been bowled over by the generous donation of 300 paving slabs for a new patio.
Orton Park Cricket Club received the slabs after they were removed from Lower Bridge Street, in Peterborough, as part of public realm improvements.
The concrete slabs were laid in the 1980s when the centre was pedestrianised.
Mr Durham said: “We’re very lucky to be redeveloping the pavilion with grants and donations but money was becoming a bit tight to cover a new patio. A junior player’s parents contacted Peterborough City Council to ask if we could have them.
“We were delighted when the council said yes and our new patio will now be laid in time for the new season.”
Cllr Casey said: “I am delighted these old slabs are being put to new use.”
