Oundle pupils' chance to reach for the stars

A GROUP of Oundle School pupils "flew" a shuttle mission in a full scale model of the orbiter during a return visit to Cape Canaveral, in Florida.
The youngsters, who spent a week at Space Camp, learned about space exploration, met astronauts boasting multiple space missions and experienced NASA training simulators, walking in the footsteps of the first Americans into space.

Biology teacher Dom Higgins said, "The pupils proved rather more adept at landing the simulator than the staff and to cap a highly successful week the Robotics Challenge was won by a team of Oundle Third Formers calling themselves the "British Bulldogs".
