EDUCATIONAL opportunities at a school are "outstanding", a report has revealed.
Staff and pupils at Oundle School received two glowing Government reports this week following a three-day joint inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and Ofsted.

Oundle School is said to provide an "outstanding, rich and comprehensive range of educational opportunities and experiences that are of considerable benefit to each of its pupils".

The inspections which took place at the school, in Church Street, in March, looked at the quality of education, care and relationships and the effectiveness of governance and management that the 1,093 pupils receive.

The ISI report said the school is successful in meeting its aims.

It said: "Pupils make rapid progress in all aspects of their learning and development, and achieve very high levels of attainment in public examinations and in a wide range of activities.

"Pupils themselves make a positive contribution to the vibrant life of the school."

The report also praised staff, who are "most generous in giving their time and expertise outside formal lessons to enhance the learning and the development of pupils."

Headmaster Charles Bush said: "The ISI Inspection Report is a tremendous endorsement of the many good things that go on at Oundle.

"We are delighted with the findings and celebrate the many outstanding features recognised.

"I have no doubt that the Inspection process will help us to improve. I am particularly pleased that the Oundle pupils are praised highly and so are the staff. This is richly deserved. This is an achievement for the whole community to be proud."
