SEASONAL storytime sessions are being held at Orton Library in the run-up to Christmas to give children a festive treat.
Children from across the Ortons can attend sessions at the library, in Ortongate, on Tuesday, December 18, from 10am to 10.30am.
The Christmas sessions are presented with a seasonal twist and complement existing themed events the council’s librar
ies hold throughout the year.
Parents can help children make craft items with a festive theme, and listen to Christmas rhymes.

Walk and talk among trees
PINING to learn about trees in the winter? Then why not head down to Ferry Meadows next month.
Park Ranger Ashley Wheale is hosting the event on Wednesday, December 3, to reveal some interesting facts.
There will be an illustrated talk and then a walk around Ferry Meadows to identify some of its native trees.
Anyone who is interested should meet at the Visitors’ Centre at 1.30pm. the event finishes at 3.45pm.

Table-top sale

A TABLE-top sale is being held next week at Herlington Community Centre, in Orton Malborne.
The sale, which takes place on Sunday, November 30, will run from 10am to 1pm.
There will be lots of stalls, including a tombola, refreshments, hand-made cards and much more.

Festive fair has

A CHRISTMAS fair is being held tomorrow in Orton Goldhay.
It will take place at Christ Church, from noon to 3pm, and there will be lots of interesting stalls. Home-made cakes and crafts will be on sale, and there will also be a raffle, tombola, children’s colouring competition and lots more.

Test your brain cells at quiz
A QUIZ is being held at St Mary’s Church, Orton Waterville, tonight.
It starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £3.50 for adults and £1 for children, and includes light refreshments.
