A GROUP of 10 teenage yobs who left a trail of destruction in their wake following a criminal damage spree have been condemned by police.
The group, believed to be aged about 15 years old, broke fences, smashed a front door and snapped wing mirrors off parked cars during Monday night's (27 October) incident.

It took place along a route from Stonebridge Lea, in Orton Malborne, through to Caldervale and Oakleigh Drive, in Orton Longueville, in Peterborough.

Police believe the group then headed to the park in the area, before heading off into various directions when officers arrived.

Orton Sector Inspector Matt Snow and Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Nick Church were unanimous in their condemnation of the yobs when speaking after last night's South West panel meeting.

Insp Snow said: "There have been a number of incidents of criminal damage on vehicles in the Ortons.

"This type of incident is unacceptable, and we will put our resources into action to hopefully find those involved."

Sgt Church, meanwhile, said that the local force would use the Bright Spark scheme to help halt this sort of future behaviour.

Bright Spark is an initiative where the police aim to tackle vandalism and curb youth offending around Halloween and Bonfire Night.

Sgt Church added: "This was a nasty incident, and we will be looking into the matter and investigating."

In a separate incident, just three nights earlier on Friday there was another disturbance involving about 30 teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, in Church Drive, in Orton Waterville. A number of youngsters were injured in that incident.

Police yesterday arrested 10 youths in connection with Friday's incident. They were questioned at Thorpe Wood police station and later released on bail.

I don`t know why the police bother. after all this is par for the course nowadays.
If they should ever get to court, which I doubt, the nice kind judge will decide they have shown remorse and turn them loose to grin and carry on.
Sadly they are the products of our modern approach how kids should be brought up.

Assuming they were ever caught - which they wont be...You guys forgot that as part of their 'punishment' they would be given additional monies so that they can go white water rafting in Wales or something equally deterring. As Billy Connolly says, "hangings too good for them, its a good kick in the a*** they need"!
