June-July 2008: Ofsted places Peterborough secondary school under special measures, governors sacked, headteacher resigns.
St John Fisher Roman Catholic School is located in Park Lane, Eastfield, Peterborough.

  • The school only Catholic secondary school in the Peterborough area.

  • In September 2007 the school relocated to Reeves Way Site (old Hereward Community College site) so the former school building could be refurbished and extended.

  • Building work on the Park Lane Site is due to be completed in September 2009.

  • There are currently 744 pupils and 101 sixth form pupils, of which just over half are from the ethnic minority community.

A damning Ofsted report said the standards at St John Fisher school were "exceptionally low" and deemed the school's leadership and management as inadequate.

St John Fisher governors hit back
